San Francisco, CA- Lindsay Lohan has a new beau, and it’s not just her dad that says so. While the troubled star’s father hinted that the actress/singer had a new man in her life earlier in the week, the Daily News talked with 25-year old yesterday and confirmed that the two are dating.
The new man in Lindsay’s life is Josh Chunn, a fitness trainer, and he told the paper that he was trying hard to be the ‘best influence’ on the star that he could.
“'I’ve been trying to get Lindsay to focus. But how do you get her to focus with all the stuff going on around her? I can barely focus. She's a strong girl. She's cleaning up. I just want her to be OK.”
Chunn confirmed that he was present in the recent emergency intervention attempt at his girlfriend’s house in Beverly Hills that attempted to convince her to check into a rehabilitation facility. Chunn said the the event put him in an ‘awkward place’ when Lohan’s father was asked to leave the premises after police were investigating a trespassing complaint. The fitness instructor was clearly uncomfortable with the confrontation, but agreed that he believes the star’s father is “just out to help her”.
Chunn doesn’t share the same opinion of the rest of Lohan’s social circle, whom he blames for some of her substance abuse problems.
“I think I’m the best influence on her. The deal is she is surrounded by a bunch of f**k-ups. I’m there for Lindsay. I listen. I work hard for my money. I pay my own bill when we go out. I have a schedule. That’s the problem with these kids in L.A., they don’t have a schedule. All they want to do is party.”
The two reportedly met for the first time at the home of a mutual friend, and again at a recent party at the Chateau Marmont Hotel.
Josh Chunn says he’s trying to get Lohan out of the party-hard lifestyle and into new routines, like taking up more of an outdoor lifestyle and accompanying him on hikes and fishing trips.
Though the pair had an uncomfortable introduction, Michael seems to like Chunn and approved of him and his influence on his daughter via Twitter, saying: “You are one of the best people that Lindsay has ever met! Sorry but the ones who care get it the worst.”
Lohan has yet to publicly confirm she is dating Chunn.
