  • Turnaround with General Motors May Impact Automotive Transport

(Transportation-News.com, May 23, 2013 ) San Francisco, CA -- Before the auto industry bailout, General Motors (GM) was seemingly a company with many management woes. Specifically, lack of productivity and the company relying on tariffs, taxes on imports and exports from country to country, to make it more difficult for Japanese companies to compete in the United States is was not good businessmen-like conduct.

When Ed Whitacre, the chairman of GM announced in 2010 that the company would be paying more than $8 billion back of its $52 billion bailout loan, it seemed the company was doing better, and even now it is seeming to fare better than it had in the past. GM is clawing its way back to prosperity and to its rightful place as one of the best and most reliable car companies in the world, holding its employees more accountable for the work and conditions of their vehicles.

GM isn’t the only car company doing well either. All of the companies that took part in the auto industry bailout have successfully boosted their profitability and have had no trouble paying back their loans. While Americans still continue to invest in the companies through taxes, the industry is looking much better than it was in 2008.

When automotive companies are doing well, the companies that transports those vehicles do well also. As car companies are able to spend more money on the creation of vehicles, more consumers will start paying attention, sparking a chain reaction for auto transport companies to help supply automotive dealers with the vehicles they need in stock for their businesses.
