(Transportation-News.com, October 26, 2014 ) Las Vegas, NV -- It would appear that Royal Prince William was unaware that the seat's shoulder straps were incorrectly placed around the baby's arms, as George was still swaddled in a blanket. During the live coverage it was clearly seen that the straps just weren't tight enough, though fortunately George didn't fall out as the case could have been. CTV news has revealed a new study showing that virtually all newbie parents unintentionally put their newborn baby at risk of resulting injured in a crash as they make their way home as a family for the first time. The study is to be presented at the next American Academy of Pediatrics National Conference & Exhibition in San Diego.

The car seat safety study participants were randomly chosen from mother-baby pairs from surrounding hospitals. The research has been able to clearly reveal the most frequent errors made by newbie parents made, as seen below.

    * 69% had not pulled the harness tight enough

    * 34% had placed the retainer clip lower than recommended

    * 20% of newbie parents in the study used unapproved car safety seats

    * 18% cent had positioned the harness higher than recommended

    * 15% were unable to adjust the harness

    * 43% had installed the safety seat too loosely

    * 36% had positioned the safety seat incorrectly

    * 23% had even forgotten to lock the safety belt

The safety report also revealed that families most at risk to commit one or more critical errors, either came from a lower social-economic background, were poorly educated, were non-white, could not speak English, or were single. On the other end of the scale, the safety study found that families who had been advised by a certified car seat technician beforehand were 13 times more likely to correctly position both the baby and safety seat correctly.

Car accessory industry expert Mr Neil Speight says he was quite shocked at the example given by the Royals, but pleased that the study had come to light. He said... "Who knows why that were so irresponsible, maybe they didn't want a safety seat ruining the plush leather seats, though a simple car seat protector mat could have resolved that issue. Oh well, I'm sure they will get it right next year when Kate is due again to give birth to another Royal baby. The research that has come to light is also quite shocking, but I'm pleased to see it's going to be made public, if not just to create more safety awareness for newborns."
