Mr. Bernstein will show the audience several futuristic innovations, including one vehicle enhancement created by BMW that allows a car to park itself without being maneuvered by a human driver.
The Remote Valet Parking Assistant, as it is called, can be commanded by the user through a smartwatch. It uses onboard sensors to navigate the car. These sensors recognize nearby obstacles, and will prompt the car to either brake or avoid the objects in its path.
Once the car is parked, it can be retrieved through the smartwatch or by setting a scheduled pickup time.
Another product that Mr. Bernstein will introduce is Beam, made by Suitable Technologies. Beam can be described as a camera on wheels. It is roughly as tall as a person and allows managers to navigate through their business floors no matter where they may be. Much like a webcam, employees or clients can talk and interact with the screen, just as if the person was physically present.
In addition to Beam, Ghost Drone is another cutting-edge product that uses a camera.
A drone is much like a helicopter with four sets of blades (which explains why it is sometimes called a quad-copter). What makes Ghost Drone unique is that, not only does it have an option to add a camera, it is surprisingly easy to maneuver.
Using a smartphone as the controller, the user can easily create an aerial video of the drone’s flight path. It’s water resistant and has an auto-return feature.
