The Screaming Banshee is a compact, electric air horn designed to fit in existing spaces on motorcycles, scooters and ATVs, that connects directly to the existing electrical and horn system. The Screaming Banshee Air Horn is compact, at 4.5 inches by 5.2 inches by 3.5 inches and weighing 2.4 pounds, and is made to work with the motorcycle or scooter's existing wiring and horn system. It can be place in-line with the existing horn, and when configured this way becomes a secondary option, activated only after a sustained depression of the horn button. Short taps on the horn use the stock unit; holding the horn button longer than 0.2 seconds activates the Screaming Banshee unit, which emits a pulsing 130 decibel sound. At the same time the high beams are flashes, creating an additional visual stimulus.
"This thing is loud," says Mr. Jepsen. "There's no other way to put it. Louder than most sirens -- you can hear it in the cabin of a car up to three blocks away. With the flashing high beams, when you jerk your head in the direction of the sound you see exactly where it's coming from."
