(Transportation-News.com, February 04, 2016 ) Clearwater, Florida -- Today Philip Jespen, CEO and founder of PrimeEffects, a consumer products company dedicated to finding and delivering specialized products in the fields of health, safety and convenience, reported that the sale price markdown of their Screaming Banshee Electric Air Horn is being adjusted. The list price of $149.95 will be marked down $20 to a sale price of $129.95. According to Mr. Jepsen this price will remain, though he could not give specifics as to how long it would be in effect. At the time of writing there was no specified end of sale date.
"We may run this a while," says Mr. Jepsen. "It depends on factors in the market, but right now we're confident we'll keep it marked down at least into the near future. This horn has been making a real buzz among motorcycle riders in particular, and it has such potential to prevent accidents and keep riders from harm. We want to keep it as affordable as we can for as long as we can."
The Screaming Banshee is an electric motorcycle air horn that wires directly into the existing factory horn system. It is compact, at under 3 pounds, and intended to fit easily in available space on a motorcycle or scooter, though it can be installed on most any vehicle. When activated it emits a warbling two-tone sound rated at over 130 decibels, which is louder than most emergency sirens. It also flashes the high beams, adding a visual component to the warning system. The horn is intended as a secondary, warning horn, to supplement the vehicle's main horn in an emergency situation.
"You can wire it up as your main horn," says Mr. Jepsen, "but I'm not sure you'd want this as your only option. There will be no polite taps of the horn with this one; it's all or nothing. Ideally it gives you that emergency option, and you can still use your normal horn as a gradient warning."
