(EMAILWIRE.COM, October 18, 2011 ) New York, NY - Atlas Productions has signed a distribution deal with Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment for the releasing of the 2011 movie Atlas Shrugged Part 1 on DVD and Blu-ray. The Atlas Shrugged Part 1 release date will be on November 8, 2011. Atlas Shrugged Part 1 is the first installment of the 1957 mystery novel of the same name by Ayn Rand. The complete trilogy tells the story of “Atlas Shrugged” where it demonstrates a powerful message about conservative economic and political methods.
Set in 2016 dystopian United States, the Atlas Shrugged Part Part 1 movie tells the story of Dagny Taggart, a railroad executive who keeps growing her business while everything around her crumbles. She runs Taggart Transcontinental with courage, honesty and intelligence as her weapon, particularly when her most efficient workers have been disappearing systematically. At the same time, she becomes attracted to Henry Rearden, the industrialist whose intellect and dedication to craft match her own.
Directed by Paul Johansson, Atlas Shrugged Part 1 was shot in Colorado and California. It stars Taylor Schilling, Grant Bowler, Matthew Marsden, Edi Gathegi and Patrick Fishcler. Producer Harmon Kaslow explained that fans of Atlas Shrugged have been requesting a movie adaptation of the controversial novel of Ayn Rand for a long time. Finally, the first part of the trilogy will hit the home entertainment market.
