 (EMAILWIRE.COM, October 18, 2011 ) New York, NY - Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIII-2 is the direct sequel to the game “Final Fantasy XIII” in 2009. This upcoming release is a role playing game for both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The official Final Fantasy XIII-2 release date is on January 31, 2012 in North America, on February 3, 2012 in Europe and it will be released at the end of this year in Japan on December 15, 2011. Square Enix has declared that Final Fantasy XIII-2 surpasses the original game in every single aspect.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 game features new playable characters; Serah Farron and Noel Kreiss. Serah is LightningÂ’s younger sister, while Noel is the mysterious time traveler from the future. He has dual combinable swords and will attempt to change fate as he is the last human survivor from some time in the future. Three years after the episodes of Final Fantasy XIII, its main protagonist, Lightning has gone missing. Sister Serah is determined to find her as other survivors rebuild Gran Pulse. Together, Serah, Noel and a Moogle companion (Mog) set off in search of Lightning.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 gameplay includes a new Mog Clock feature which is a dial clock that appears on the screen whenever monsters are around, creating a red ring around the playable characters. Director Motomo Toriyama stated that the overall tone of Final Fantasy XIII-2 is darker and more puzzling than the original game, considering that Cocoon had fallen.
