(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 17, 2011 ) Wilmington, NC -- Since it has become hard to remember the last time gasoline cost less than $3 per gallon, many Americans are wondering which cars are the most fuel efficient. Here is a list, as it was posted on fueleconomy.gov, ranking the ten most fuel efficient cars currently on the American market.
1. Nissan Leaf 106/92 mpg all electric vehicle
2. Smart Fortwo 94/79 mpg all electric vehicle
3. Chevrolet Volt 95/90 with all electric usage and 35/40 when using gasoline
4. Toyota Prius 51/48 mpg hybrid vehicle
5. Lexus CT 200h 43/40 mpg hybrid vehicle
Three cars are tied for the number six spot:
6. Ford Fusion Hybrid FWD 41/36 mpg
6. Mercury Milan Hybrid FWD 41/36 mpg
6. Lincoln MKZ Hybrid FWD 41/36 mpg
7. Honda Civic Hybrid 40/43 mpg
8. Hyundai Sonata 35/40 mpg
9. Honda CR-Z 35/39mpg
10. Lexus HS 250h 35/34 mpg
The numbers on the all electric vehicles seem backwards to consumers used to seeing the city mpg lower than the highway mpg. With an all electric car, the lower speeds and idle time in the city allows it to avoid consuming any battery power at all. That means these vehicles actually return better fuel economy in an urban environment.
About CarLoansWithNoCredit.com
A large percentage of car shoppers are first time buyers, and as such, they often haven't established a credit history for lenders to review. For this reason, they can only finance a car with a no credit car loan. This is easier said than done, as auto lenders utilize a consumer's credit record to determine interest rates and terms. However, there are lenders who approve auto loans for people with no credit.
