The game starts off with the player returning from the dead and waking up on a pile of corpses. It takes place in a fantasy world called Amalur where the player sets off on a heroic journey to unlock the mysteries of the magical land.
The Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning game is positioning itself as a heavy hitter with a team of talented people working to put put it all together. The game is developed by 38 Studios and Big Huge Games, with New York Times best-selling author R.A. Salvatore creating the universe in which the game takes place. Ken Rolston who worked on Elder Scrolls III and IV is executive designer and Todd McFarlane the creator of Spawn is in charge of all the artwork for this game.
Besides beautiful graphics and a lot of sword action, Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning is unique in that it utilizes a unique destiny system where players invest in a skill-tree system to unlock various destinies or classes. There are three trees to choose from, might, finesse and sorcery. Avid fans of fantasy role playing video games will not want to miss this game when it comes out for XBox 360, PS3 and PC. The official Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning release date is set for February 7, 2012.
