  • Digital Marketing for Car Dealers at Auto Trader conference

    (Transportation-News.com, January 05, 2012 ) London, England -- Motoring and digital media enthusiasts were treated to an insightful and intuitive conference from Razsor last month, as Auto Trader hosted the Automotive Digital Marketing Conference 2011 in London.



    The conference, launched by Andy Whitehair, the Managing Director at Razsor, covered everything from the advantages and disadvantages of digital marketing and how it can work for the consumer as well as the trader. Geared towards traders with an eye to digitally market their new car deals, used car prices and, for example, used Vauxhall Insignia models, each session offered an intriguing insight into the digital industry and how, in turn, it can benefit the automotive industry.



    One of the reasons behind the conference was the fact that Auto Trader mobile has grown by an astonishing 70 per cent year on year, which really highlights the potential of digital media in this industry. The first talk by Auto Trader came from Nick King, who is the Marketing Research Director at Trader Media Group. He addressed the importance of understanding the consumer and provided a forecast for the behaviour of both on and offline consumers over the next five years.



    The conference progressed to highlight a case study, hosted by Steve Hood, the Managing Director of the Internet Division at Ford Retail Dealer Group, of the potential successes of digital marketing. Following a panel discussion on generating sales and a second case study, the conference saw an interesting speech on protecting your image and recovering from a PR disaster from none other than the voice of experience, Gerald Ratner himself.



    An SEO Masterclass fronted by Trader Media Group and Razsor then took place in the afternoon, alongside sessions that expanded on monitoring online trends with consumers and digital marketing success. Andy Whitehair rounded off with the five key points from the conference after a discussion about whether or not social media and mobile technology actually works for car dealers in the UK.
