(Transportation-News.com, July 10, 2012 ) Asheville, NC -- BMW has announced that its BMW M235i Coupe will be offered for sale in America in early 2014. This will be one of the first performance cars to make it to the U.S.
The M235i, the replacement to the 1 M coupe, is what BMW will use to bring its 1-Series convertible and coupe versions into the 2-Series stable. Rumors are that the M235i will be unveiled at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.
The new 2-Series will be powered by BMW's 3.0-liter, turbo inline-six that will be capable of churning out at least 320 horsepower. It will also be available with the fun option of coming with a six-speed manual transmission.
