(Transportation-News.com, July 18, 2012 ) Wilmington, NC -- Kia's lengthy, boxy minivan, the Kia Sedona, will not be getting a redesign until model-year 2014.
Though the South Korean automaker has found success in the young-driver market with its boxy, funky, fun Soul, it has not experienced great sales with its minivan entry. In fact, year-over-year sales for the Kia Sedona were down a full 12 per cent this June.
However, this doesn't mean that the car maker that brought the cool to hamsters is giving up on the minivan market. Talking about this, Kia representative Mike Ofiara said, "The minivan segment has been and will continue to be important to Kia. Although there will not be a 2013 model year Sedona, our plans call for the current-generation vehicle to be available at dealerships through 2012, with production scheduled to resume in 2013."
