  • Green Bay PackerÂ’s Lambeau Field Gets New Seating for 2012, More Expansion Planned reports NFLTickets.me

(Transportation-News.com, October 04, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA- If you are a Green Bay Packers season-ticket holder, you now have the chance at reserving new seating areas at Lambeau Field. The new seating includes chairs with backs opposed to benches, and attached cup holders on the new seating. The seating areas are in the 600 and 700 levels of Lambeau Field’s south end zone. Fans can make this switch with an added bonus of no user fees for fans that want to relocate.

The new seating areas offer chairs that have “a 19-to-21 inch seat with a back and cup holders,” according to the Packers. Prices for these seats range from, “$82 to $89” for fans of the team. General seating other places within the stadium for 2012′s season are: “ $72 for end zone seats, $80 for seats in the area between the 20-yard lines to the end zones, and $92 between the 20-yard lines.”

The new seats will be assigned based on a seniority of season ticket holders and then by the date that the request for relocation was received. All requests were due to the Green Bay Packers by September 20, 2012.

If for some reason season ticket holders do not fill the new seats, those on the season ticket holders waiting list will be offered the seats. According to the Packers, they anticipate about 6,500 seats to be available.

The new seating was not only designed to make fans more comfortable, but to increase the capacity of Lambeau Field from 73,094 to right around 80,000. This makes Lambeau’s capacity ninth in the NFL.

Details are being finalized on two new premium seating areas called Terrance Suites, which will offer private indoor and outdoor seating, and the Champions Club, an indoor area in the end zone. The stadium will also be getting new scoreboards and new entrances.
