  • Lack of Oxygen to Heart May be Root of Heart Disease Problem

(Transportation-News.com, May 10, 2013 ) San Francisco, CA -- While heart disease remains the top killer of men and women in America, the fact is that the disease was simply not as common in the start of the 1900s. While there is certainly some of the blame going to the fact that individuals died of various other disease, causing them to not live long enough to experience heart disease, it is also well established they ate more long-chain omega-3 fatty acids. While they may not have known they were doing so, but the eating of fish and beef consumption was higher. Subsequent generations that do not eat as much of either meat find the heart disease levels jumping upward.

The great philosopher Hippocrates stated “Whatever is good for the heart is probably good for the mind.” While that is true, the opposite may be just as true.

One of the best ways to live a longer life is to reduce the chances of developing heart disease. If individuals could snap collective fingers to remove it, the average life expectancy within the country would improve by a decade. However, people are simply not doing enough to address
the problem. A decrease in blood flow to the heart and increased artery inflammation are the main concerns to specialists. So the key seems to be, according to some experts, to up the amount of fatty acids, as well as oxygen to the heart, rather than simply hoping science can create better post-even cure-alls.

It turns out 50% of individuals that find their way to the hospital for heart-related problems have normal cholesterol. Another 25% of people who develop premature disease do not show any standard factors that are know to be precursory to heart diseased. Lack of oxygen, instead, is the top contributor to heart disease. Of course, there are symptoms that cause this effect, such as clumping of blood platelets, and inflammation caused by cortisol build up.

Finding ways to up the frequency and quality of oxygen to the heart is an important step to reducing heart attacks. By doing so along with proper diet and controlling of proper cholesterol, one can keep the heart in generally healthy form.
