The motion detection system is an efficient PIR (Passive Infra-Red) motion sensor with a detection area 10 meters long, 120-150° horizontal and 0-90° vertical. The adjustable illumination time can be set between 10 to 240 seconds. With the lights receiving a constantly charging time of between 6 to 8 hours, the light can operate for 20 seconds duration for more than 500 iterations.

Once the Solar Motion LED security lights are installed, setting up when the lights come on and for what duration is an easy adjustment. The Solar Motion lights have a detector which features 3 control dials to customize the LED light's various operational functions. The first setting, LUX (light level), determines the level of darkness that must be reached for the light to turn on. To save the charge on the batteries, it is recommended to turn the LUX setting to only turn the lights on when it is dark. The TIME setting controls the duration of illumination time and can be set between 10 and 240 seconds. Finally the SENS (Sensitivity) setting controls the range of motion detection. The SENS setting can be set to detect motion up to 30 feet and has a 180 degrees range of detecting motion.
