Car Seat Protector by Freddie and Sebbie

(Transportation-News.com, November 28, 2014 ) Las Vegas, NV -- The Statesman Journal has just revealed what's what for car safety seat laws in the state of Oregon, while suggesting that parents in other states make sure they do actually know what the law is in their neck of the woods to avoid the event of a never-ending family tragedy.

According to the applicable laws in Oregon, children under the age of 1 year or weighing less than 20 pounds should be placed in an approved rear facing car safety seat, though the official state spokesperson also added that the very best practice is for parents to keep their infants rear-facing until they outgrow their safety seat, with the same advice being given by the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Though the majority of US parents believe that the law for moving children to booster seats is at 4 years old, or when the begin to weigh 40 pounds, but in Oregon, there is no longer a recommended age for the change over, with the current laws only saying that kids should be in a harness system until they weigh 40 lbs. However, there are a growing number of car seat manufacturers, who are making harness systems which handle higher weight limits. Families are still encouraged to continue moving their children to a booster seat once they reach the weight of 40 lbs, though should always remember that when making the switch to a booster seat, lap belts alone can not be used, so having a lap and shoulder belt for use with a booster seat is a legal obligation.

Finally kids up until 8 years old or the height of 4'9" should always be placed on an appropriately sized booster seat, with the weight requirement no longer remaining in force. The state representative also mentioned that law which enforces the correct usage of seat belt systems could still override the car seat laws, meaning that children at any age, height, or weight, regardless of booster or safety seat regulations, still need to be harnessed correctly for parents to avoid receiving a possible citation.

Mr Neil Speight, co-founder of kids line accessory company, Freddie and Sebbie, said... "I often comment on the importance of parents knowing the correct ways to keep their children safe and secure at all times while out in the car, so it certainly is worth checking out local state laws about car seat safety to avoid any possible citation. I know how eager parents can be to just forget about the car safety seat as soon as possible, with many of our Amazon customers saying how their car's interior upholstery gets all scuffed up, but my advice is always the same. Protect your children first, and if you want to avoid scuff marks on the car seats, then just use a car seat protector."
