(Transportation-News.com, November 27, 2015 ) Clearwater, Florida -- Today CEO and founder of PrimeEffects, Philip Jepsen, announced that their Screaming Banshee Electric Motorcycle Air Horn is being offered in chrome, in addition to the standard black. The air horn is a compact electric horn that hooks into the existing horn system of a motorcycle or scooter and acts as a secondary warning system. Emitted volume is in the range of 130 decibels. "This little horn is loud," says Mr. Jepsen. "As loud as a standard siren, if you can believe that. It's incredible the noise it can put out for its size. It's small enough to mount just about anywhere, but until now we were only offering one option. Now you can get it in black or chrome, which gives you options depending on your style preference."
The Screaming Banshee Air Horn comes with instructions and mounting and wiring hardware. The horn is 4.5 x 5.2 x 3.5 inches, and weighs 2.4 pounds. It will fit in most available free space on the typical motorcycle or scooter. It can be wired directly into the existing horn system, which is the recommended implementation, such that the air horn will activate after a sustained depression of the horn button. It can also be wired in as a separate horn.
"This is a warning device," says Mr. Jepsen. "Meant to get attention. In the standard setup your normal horn works with short taps, same as always. However, in an emergency you hold the button for more than about two tenths of a second and the Banshee lets loose. A warbling siren sound that can be heard up to three blocks away. There's no doubt that you will be heard when this horn goes off."
Activation of the Screaming Banshee Motorcycle Air Horn also flashes the high beams, to add a visual component to the warning. It is available on Amazon and comes in either black or chrome.
