  • Latti & Anderson LLP Proud Sponsor of Two Contests at Working Waterfront Festival

(Transportation-News.com, September 20, 2012 ) Boston, MA -- Latti & Anderson LLP is proud to participate in this year’s 9th annual Working Waterfront Festival in New Bedford, Massachusetts on September 29 and 30, 2012. The festival celebrates the culture of the small fishing community, the commercial fishing industry and the working waterfront. A variety of local seafood will be offered for attendees, including fish and chips, scallops, clam cakes and crab. The Working Waterfront Festival is family-friendly and will host unique activities and attractions, including nautical themed musical performances and tug boat demonstrations. New Bedford rose to prominence in the 19th century as a whaling community that brought artificial light to the world while becoming one of the richest cities in the country. While whaling may be a thing of the past, the community still celebrates its waterfront culture. The festival brings thousands of visitors to the largest commercial fishing port in the United States.

The Boston maritime attorneys of Latti & Anderson LLP will have a booth at the festival, giving away coffee mugs and scallop knives to visitors. The firm is also sponsoring a net mending competition and a scallop shucking contest, with cash prizes awarded to the winners. Attendees will be able to meet the firm’s attorneys and on-staff investigator, as well.

“We are excited for this year’s festival, and Latti & Anderson is proud to participate in the celebration of an industry that helped to build this great nation,” says firm partner Carolyn Latti. “These hard-working fishermen and longshoremen are what make the community special, and it is important that we recognize them.”

Carolyn Latti is a partner of the law firm of Latti & Anderson LLP and one of the few female maritime plaintiffs’ attorneys on the East Coast. In 2001, Carolyn won the honor of being in the ten Massachusetts Lawyers of the Year by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, and cases she has tried have twice been featured in its “Top Ten Verdicts of the Year.”
